US Galaxy Z Flip 6 & Fold 6 Owners: May 2025 Security Patch Now Available

Good news for Samsung smartphone users in the USA, the brand has started rolling out the May 2025 security update for Users who have the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. Samsung has released the update for unlocked versions, and carrier-locked models may receive it in the near future.
In the US, the May 2025 security patch is launching with firmware versions F956U1UES2BYE3 for the Fold 6 and F741U1UES2BYE3 for the Flip 6. The May 2025 update features a file size close to 480 MB.
This security release is based on Android 15, as Samsung prepares for the next major upgrade with One UI 8 now under internal testing. The upcoming One UI 8 update may improve the user experience on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 with features like Selfie Video Log.
The May 2025 security patch brings fixes for 58 high-level Android system issues, as reported by Google. Although this month’s Android security bulletin listed no critical or moderate issues, Samsung included all applicable fixes, some of which were previously implemented or irrelevant to Galaxy phones.

The current security patch lays the groundwork for upcoming software upgrades on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6. Security and stability improvements help the user’s smartphone resolve several issues with this update. Users struggling with battery drain could notice improvements after installing this patch.
Get the latest update by going into Settings, selecting Software Update, and then tapping Download and install. After downloading the update, complete the installation by following the on-screen instructions for better security and stability. The improvement will soon expand to include more users in the United States.

Galaxy S22 series getting March 2025 security update in the US

Last week, Samsung’s March 2025 security update rolled out to the Galaxy S21 series, while the Galaxy S25 series got the update this week. Now, the tech giant is rolling out the latest software for the 2022 smartphone series, the S22, available in the US region.
Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra devices have started receiving the March 2025 security update in the US and it is now live for the carrier-locked (T-Mobile, US Cellular, Dish Wireless, and MetroPCS) variants.
In particular, the update for each of the three phones is identified by the S901USQS8EYC1, S906USQS8EYC1, and S908USQS8EYC1 build numbers, respectively. Concurrently, the update reportedly doesn’t bring any new features or modifications; instead, it importantly brings a whole bunch of fixes for all the security issues that have been fixed in the last version to enhance the overall security and core performance of the device.
Along with some fixes, the update also adds stability and reliability to the overall system behavior and introduces a number of performance optimizations that ultimately result in a smoother and better user experience.
So, the Galaxy S22 series owners can now download and install the new update on their devices when released. The update will also be rolled out for the US unlocked models in the coming days.
